Is There Such a Thing as an Internet Marketing Master?

Internet Marketing

In the real world, anyone who claims they are a “master” at something has the documents to prove it. A teacher has a teaching certificate, a doctor has a diploma from a medical school, even a karate master has a series of belts to prove it. In the online world, however, there are a lot of masters who are masters in their own minds. People with no education, no scruples, and no real skills claim to be masters and expect you to pay to pick their brains. Don’t do it!

That doesn’t mean, of course, that in order to be an internet marketing master that you need to have an MBA! An internet marketing master is more likely to have years of experience online and a proven track record of sales. A true internet marketing master will also have plenty of people who can vouch for him (or her), without being paid for it!

  • If you are starting up or working on growing your online business, finding an expert to help you is not a bad idea. However, find one that does business in the same realm that you do. If you sell e-books, find someone who knows about marketing e-books.

  • Someone who knows their marketing will be as interested in your customers as they are in your product. Be ready to change both your product and your customer base if times require you to do so.
